About the North Shore Fruit Tree Project

Who We Are:

The North Shore Fruit Tree Project is a grassroots community organization aimed at reducing food waste and supporting food-insecure members of our community. By harvesting the fruit from our network of trees across the North Shore, we’re able to donate hundreds of pounds of produce every year to people who need it.

Founded in 2010, the project has supported hungry citizens through local charities, provided education about locally grown produce, and saved thousands of pounds of fruit from becoming food waste.

Our Purpose:

What We Do

  • Outreach for volunteers and tree owners

  • Coordinate volunteers for picks on evenings and weekends

  • Deliver fruit to community partners

    • Partner distributes to clients

  • Workshops (e.g., fruit preservation)
